Have you ever tried to draw something that just REFUSED to be drawn? You draw the doodle, it looks cool! but then, it starts. Every subsequent sketch, every correction, every attempt at colour is just fail.

Well, i beat you, drawing! I uploaded you so I win! ha!

When you have something semi-okay, decide to rub a bit and change it, and it looks horrible! Then you try and fix it up back to where it was, and it gets worse! D;

Wheeee! Line quality looks really nice here. The shoulders look great, and are in a difficult position there - did you use reference, for that? I would have had to.

I dig that this girl has some substance to her as well, and all the hair FX is sweet.

I know you dig the pastelly palette, but a couple of spots could be darker, like clevage and between legs. Also maybe a hint of occlusion on the cupcake.
Perhaps a touch of highlight to taste on her cheeks too.

Still I think this is one of your finest shading jobs yet, I'm just being penickety cause it's good for you. Also paint drops effect on the corners - simple, but effective. Nice.

Ha thanks about the shoulders- I did in fact use myself for referencing the arms/shoulders. I wish I'd told Dan before he said "wow cool! she's got arms like one of those Bavarian serving girls!"

I'm glad you like it, it's one of my quickest shading jobs to date, and i 100% agree that some darker shadows and pinky spots would really jazz it up, in fact i think i'll add 'em in when I've gotten over my sheer joy at it not sucking after the third complete do-over.

Also, interesting you like the lines- it's the first real-media linework I've used in ages! :)

hahaha yes, i think every artist has experienced that. this is really good girl O_o!! love the straps around the legs, the position is fab, and fantastic anatomy. i love it!
